Station brief

Ottawa

A bilingual capital on a provincial border, where a case can end at the Ottawa River even when the trail doesn’t.

The territory

Ottawa runs on two languages and one river that happens to also be a provincial line. Government employment sets the pace of the city more than any other single industry, which means a working week here has a different shape: a parliamentary calendar, a transient population of staff who rotate through on a few years’ posting, and paperwork that moves through bilingual channels as often as English-only ones. None of that changes what we can do here, only how a case is paced and who has to be able to read the file.

Coverage

We work Ottawa and its communities: Kanata, Nepean, Orleans and Barrhaven, east to Cornwall. Our licensing is provincial, so work across the river in Gatineau and the rest of Quebec runs through licensed partners on that side of the line. Coverage here means local investigators, not an Ottawa office; every case is staffed and dispatched from our Hamilton head office.
